Christmas for the Kids of YCS

On December 19th, Oliver Garfunkle (Ollie the Clown, Inc.) and Nachman & Associates, P.C. donated a performance to the Youth Consultation Service (YCS) of New Jersey (http://www.ycs.org/). Ollie's Adventures in Ollieland combines lively interactive, educational entertainment with the antics of puppets with personality. Through masterful storytelling, music and song, Ollie's Adventures provides a kid-friendly way for children to explore contemporary topics ranging from ecological awareness to conflict resolution.

Since the age of 8 Oliver has created, written, produced and performed characters for TV, film, radio and live performance. His South African career culminated in a television series where he hosted and performed his Ollieland puppet creations.

Oliver has performed in arenas engaging live audiences of 5000 and more with his magical, enigmatic, interactive entertaining style. His theater roles include diverse characters like the cockney in My Fair Lady, a psychiatrist, bus driver and alien in God Bless you Mister Rosewater, to Steven Sondheims disturbed Toby in Sweeny Todd. Oliver Garfunkel performed the voiceover for Kwacko, an impish chimpanzee in Ecis Park and a frenetic mathematical insect wizard Fun With Puck The Duck, both popular South African television series.

The combination of puppetry skills, comedic timing, singing and dance make him an exceptional talent bringing a unique energy and life force into projects with which he is involved. He has created over 30 characters bringing distinct voices to each that match their unique personalities.

This year, Nachman & Associates, P.C. co-sponsored a holiday performance for the children of YCS. The children were captivated and absorbed in all of Ollie's antics, and even the adults in the room were singing and dancing along with Ollie.
