Ridgewood, New Jersey - June 6, 2005

Following a detailed study of PERM processes and procedures and an arduous implementation protocol by our firm, we are pleased to announce that PERM approvals are slowly trickling in. We received an approval today for an advanced degree professional case that was filed "electronically" on May 12, 2005. The case was approved on June 2nd, 2005. This means that it took the U.S. Department of Labor ("DOL") a whole 31 days to evaluate and favorably approve our client's Labor Certification Application case.

By way of background, the PERM process is the new Labor Certification Process that was implemented by the DOL on March 28, 2005. Employers are now able to submit Labor Certification Applications using an online/electronic process that promises (in appropriate cases) favorable adjudications in a matter of weeks as opposed to years. Since the implementation of PERM, the DOL has been working to educate the public about the new program. On June 1st, 2005, the DOL released its Fourth Frequently Asked Questions ("FAQ") about the PERM Program. The Fourth FAQ responds to numerous questions from PERM users which emanate from the recent rash of PERM denials.
